SPECIAL CALLED SESSION
APRIL 23, 2007 AT 6:30 P.M.
The Board of City Commissioners of the City of Shawnee, County of Pottawatomie, State of Oklahoma, met in Special Called Session in the Commission Chambers at City Hall, 9th and Broadway, Shawnee, Oklahoma, Monday, April 23, 2007 at 6:30 p.m., pursuant to notice duly posted as prescribed by law. Mayor Mills presided and called the meeting to order. Upon roll call, the following members were in attendance.

Amanda Gire, Shawnee News-Star, and Wayne Trotter, Shawnee Sun.

The Call for said meeting was entered upon the records by the City Clerk, said Call being as follows:
CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA TO BE HELD ON THE 9TH DAY OF APRIL, THE 17TH DAY OF APRIL, THE 23RD DAY OF APRIL AND THE 30TH DAY OF APRIL, 2007 AT 6:30 O’CLOCK P.M. AT THE SHAWNEE CITY HALL COMMISSION CHAMBERS, 16 WEST 9TH, SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA FOR THE PURPOSE OF REVIEW AND DISCUSSION REGARDING THE FY 2007-08 BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF SHAWNEE.
By virtue of the authority vested in me by Section 4, Article IV of the Charter of the City of Shawnee, Oklahoma, a Special Session of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Shawnee, Oklahoma is hereby called to meet at the Shawnee City Hall Commission Chambers, 16 West 9th, Shawnee, Oklahoma at 6:30 p.m. on April 9, April 17, April 23 and April 30, 2007 for the purpose of review and discussion of the FY 2007-08 budget for the City of Shawnee.

TO THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA:
You and each of you are hereby notified that by virtue of a call issued by City Manager James C. Collard on this 3rd day of April, 2007, a Special Called Session will be held of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Shawnee, Oklahoma at Shawnee City Hall Commission Chambers, 16 W. 9th, Shawnee, Oklahoma at 6:30 p.m. on April 9, April 17, April 23 and April 30, 2007 and you are hereby notified to be present at said meetings.

AGENDA ITEM NO. 1: Review and discussion of FY 2007-08
budget for the City of Shawnee.
City Manager Jim Collard began the meeting with a presentation of projected revenues in the General Fund. The revenue areas discussed were Taxes, Licenses and Permits, Fine and Forefeitures, Rental Revenue, Other Revenues and Transfers.
General Fund expenditures were next examined with City Manager Collard reviewing the operating budget of each department.
Moving on to the Shawnee Municipal Authority Revenue, Mr. Collard stated that local major industries may be cutting back on water consumption due to the Atoka Water Line surcharge.
Mayor Mills urged other commissioners to consider water increases now in small planned increments rather than having no increases for several years and then having to raise rates by a large percentage.
Shawnee Municipal Authority expenditures were then examined.
AGENDA ITEM NO. 2: Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the meeting, a motion was made by Vice Mayor Peterson, seconded by Commissioner Daugherty, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried 7-0. (8:30 p.m.)
