THE TRUSTEES OF THE SHAWNEE MUNICIPAL AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SHAWNEE, COUNTY OF POTTAWATOMIE, STATE OF OKLAHOMA, MET IN REGULAR SESSION IN THE COMMISSION CHAMBERS AT CITY HALL, 9TH AND BROADWAY, SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA, MONDAY, MAY 7, 2001 IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE BOARD OF CITY COMMISSIONERS MEETING, PURSUANT TO NOTICE DULY POSTED AS PRESCRIBED BY LAW. UPON ROLL CALL, A QUORUM WAS DECLARED PRESENT WITH THE FOLLOWING MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE:
Chairman Harden presided and called the meeting to order.
AGENDA ITEM NO. 2: Declaration of a Quorum.
Chairman Harden declared a quorum present.
AGENDA ITEM NO. 3: Authority appointment of a Vice Chairman (per Article III, Section 6 of City Charter).
Chairman Harden called for nominations for the office of Vice Chairman. Trustee/Vice Chairman Downing was nominated. There were no further nominations and the nominations were closed.
A motion was made by Trustee Harrod, seconded by Trustee Weaver, that Vice Chairman Downing be reappointed to the position of Vice Chairman for one year, with said term to expire the first Authority meeting in May of 2002. Motion carried.
AGENDA ITEM NO. 4: Consider approval of Consent Agenda.
a) Minutes of April 16, 2001 meeting
b) Confirm action taken under City Commission Agenda Item No. 2 concerning the swearing in of Bob Weaver as City Commissioner (SMA Trustee)
c) Confirm action taken under City Commission Agenda Item No. 14(a) concerning the awarding of bid of solid waste collection and disposal services. The bid was awarded to BFI Inc., Shawnee, Oklahoma in the amount of $929,585.00 as the best bid.
A motion was made by Vice Chairman Downing, seconded by Trustee Claybrook, that the Consent Agenda (a-c) be approved. Motion carried.
AGENDA ITEM NO. 7: Adjournment.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, a motion was
made by Trustee Harrod, seconded by Trustee Roach, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried. (11:37 p.m.)
