SPECIAL CALLED SESSION
AUGUST 29, 2005 AT 3:30 P.M.
The Board of City Commissioners of the City of Shawnee, County of Pottawatomie, State of Oklahoma, met in Special Called Session in the Commission Chambers at City Hall, 9th and Broadway, Shawnee, Oklahoma, Monday, August 29, 2005 at 3:30 p.m., pursuant to notice duly posted as prescribed by law. Mayor Mills presided and called the meeting to order. Upon roll call, the following members were in attendance.

Staff members and others in attendance included: City Manager Jim Collard, City Treasurer/Finance Director Becky Cragin, City Attorney John Canavan, City Clerk Diana Hallock, the Shawnee Civic and Cultural Authority members, Trust Attorney Mike Clover, Expo Deputy Director Donna Mayo, General Manager Ken Etchieson, and Secretary Mandy Wright.
Representing the news media was Mr. Kevin Scrutchins, Shawnee News-Star reporter, and Mr. Wayne Trotter, Shawnee Sun Editor.

The Call for said meeting was entered upon the records by the City Clerk, said Call being as follows:
CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA TO BE HELD ON THE 29TH DAY OF AUGUST, 2005 AT 3:30 O’CLOCK P.M. AT THE SHAWNEE CITY HALL COMMISSION CHAMBERS, 16 WEST 9TH, SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA FOR THE PURPOSE OF A JOINT MEETING WITH THE SHAWNEE CIVIC AND CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY TO DISCUSS AND CONSIDER A GOVERNMENTAL SERVICES CONTRACT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SHAWNEE AND THE SHAWNEE CIVIC AND CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY.
By virtue of the authority vested in me by Section 2, Article IV of the Charter of the City of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Special Sessions of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Shawnee, Oklahoma is hereby called to meet at the Shawnee City Hall Commission Chambers, 16 West 9th, Shawnee, Oklahoma at 3:30 p.m. on August 29, 2005 for the purpose of a joint meeting with the Shawnee Civic and Cultural Development Authority to discuss and consider a governmental services contract agreement between the City of Shawnee and the Shawnee Civic and Cultural Development Authority.

NOTICE OF A CALLED SPECIAL SESSION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA
TO THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA:
You and each of you are hereby notified that by virtue of a call issued by me on this 24th day of August, 2005, a Special Called Session will be held of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Shawnee, Oklahoma at Shawnee City Hall Commission Chambers, 16 W. 9th, Shawnee, Oklahoma at 3:30 p.m. on August 29, 2005 and you are hereby notified to be present at said meeting.
The purpose of said meeting will be a joint meeting with the Shawnee Civic and Cultural Development Authority to discussion and consider a governmental services contract agreement between the City of Shawnee and the Shawnee Civic and Cultural Development Authority.

AGENDA ITEM NO. 1. Discussion and consideration of a governmental services contract agreement between the City of Shawnee and the Shawnee Civic and Cultural Development Authority.
The City Commissioners in a joint session with the Shawnee Civic and Cultural Development Authority (SCCDA) discussed the governmental services contract agreement between the City and the SCCDA in relation to the operations of the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center commonly known as the Expo Center.
With the guidance of the two attorneys, terms of the contract was reviewed and changes were made to the satisfaction of both parties.
No formal action was taken on the contract and it was noted that the revised contract would be presented at each entity’s regular meeting. The City Commission meeting would on September 6 and SCCDA’s meeting to be held on September 15, 2005
AGENDA ITEM NO. 2: Adjournment.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, a motion was made by Commissioner Schrzan, seconded by Commissioner Harden, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried 6-0. (4:22 p.m.)
